TAL has appointed a new general manager of claims.
Currently in the role of general manager of international life solutions, Loraine van Eeden, will transition into the new role in January 2018.
Relocating to Sydney from Capetown, van Eeden will be responsible for overseeing claims management across all of TAL's distribution channels.
TAL chief operating officer, Justin Delaney said the insurer is delighted to have van Eeden joining its customer and operations business.
"We undertook an extensive internal and external search for this role, with our local talent comparing favourably to the best in the market," Delaney said.
"Our claims experience is where we make the biggest contribution in the eyes of the people who matter most - our customers. We have every confidence that Loraine's depth of experience and knowledge of TAL will ideally position her to support our continual improvement of the claims experience."
He added that TAL is currently investing more in its claims experience than any other segment, following a record year for its claims team.
Before joining TAL, van Eeden spent 15 years at Swiss Re, most notably as head of life and health claims proposition across the Asian, European and Latin American markets.
