NAB Financial Planning appointed a new general manager for South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
Adrian De Silva joined NAB in January from Beyond Bank Australia, where he was national manager wealth management and national manager practice development.
Prior to that, he was a regional SMSF solutions manager at AMP, national manager distribution at BT Financial Group and southern area manager at Asgard Wealth Solutions.
De Silva's appointment follows an overhaul of NAB's wealth business late last year, which saw the departure of the bank's executive general manager of wealth advice, Greg Miller. Miller took on the lead role in 2015.
Commenting on Miller's departure, NAB chief customer officer of consumer banking and wealth Andrew Hagger said: "Greg's career with us has spanned over 35 years, across many changes to the financial advisory landscape in Australia. I wish Greg all the best for the future."
As a result of NAB's restructure, aimed at "simplifying its business," NAB general manager of advice partnerships Ross Barnwell and NAB Financial Planning general manager Tim Steele joined the bank's consumer banking and wealth leadership team. They both now report directly to Hagger.
"We are reducing the number of management layers so that we're closer to our customers. Having Tim Steele and Ross Barnwell on my leadership team speaks to how much NAB - and I - value our advisers and advice business," Hagger said.
Further explaining the reasons behind the restructure, Hagger added: "We continue to focus on our advice business, and this restructure will mean enhanced accountability, and simpler, more consistent and standardised systems and processes."
"Our customers don't think about their banking and their wealth separately, and neither do we. These changes will enable better and faster decision making through a clearer line of sight across our entire consumer banking and wealth business," he said.
