It would appear as though Tony has learnt nothing in his years in Parliment. Indexing pensions is grossly irresponsible and what has in the past generated unfunded liabilities. May I remind readers that unfunded index pensions in the USA has generated significant unfunded liabilities. Talk about fiscal responsibility or lack of.
Tony is right these brave people dont even get the deal that the pollies get. Future Funds are set up to fund the liabilities The pensions of service personell are hardly going to break the federal budget. Maybe handing out $900 checks to every one is more fiscally responsible? These peoples' pensions are falling behind AWOTE service to country at least deserves that don't you think?
So, in equity terms I assume the Coalition will also be extending this overdue reform to retired Australian Public Service staff?
