Stewart Brentnall announced his intentions to retire from full-time employment over the next 12 months. TCorp chief executive Rob Kenna said Brentnall played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the organisation's total portfolio approach investment model and its successful application to client portfolios. "Together with the investment leadership team, he has helped deliver strong investment outcomes that have exceeded clients' objectives across the approximately $125 billion managed by TCorp on behalf of the NSW government," he said. Brentnall previously served as chief investment officer at ANZ for seven years, overseeing $60 billion of funds under management in customer products across direct, advised, high-net-worth and institutional channels. This included index and active funds across multi-asset and single sector offerings. At ANZ, Brentnall oversaw the asset transitions from ING Australia to ANZ's active management strategies and $18 billion worth of indexed assets, as well as the consolidation of five superannuation products into a single MySuper product. He also held senior investment roles at BT Financial Group, QIC, Goldman Sachs and Schroders. TCorp is now looking for Brentnall's successor with the appointment set to be finalised in the first half of 2027. Brentnall continues to lead the investment team during this period. TCorp recently appointed Gavin Sinnott as general manager of financial markets. Sinnott has been acting in the role since December 2025, having previously served as head of balance sheet for three and a half years. In the permanent role, he looks after TCorp's funding strategy, balance sheet management, local government services and client risk solutions functions across the New South Wales government's financing and investment arm. Before joining TCorp, Sinnott held senior institutional and capital markets roles at Westpac, RBC, Citi and Commonwealth Bank. Related News |
