HESTA executive jumps ship to Cbus

A C-suite executive from HESTA has taken on a new role as chief member officer at Cbus, effective October.

HESTA confirmed chief engagement and growth officer Joshua Parisotto will depart after more than six years with the fund.

Parisotto first joined HESTA as chief advice officer in January 2020 before taking on broader responsibilities for member engagement, education advice and employer partnerships.

Parisotto will leave the $95 billion industry fund in October to join CBUS as chief member officer, marking another senior executive move between Australia's major profit-to-member funds.

HESTA chief executive Debby Blakey thanked Parisotto for his contributions to improving member engagement and retirement outcomes.

"Josh has made a terrific contribution to HESTA, particularly through his leadership in our work to better support members with education and advice," Blakey said.

"For more than six years he has helped more of our members get the guidance they need to make confident decisions about their super and retire their way."

Parisotto said he was proud of what had been achieved at HESTA during his tenure.

"We have made significant steps forward in engagement and advice as we seek to better support members in feeling confident about their retirement. This has included the introduction of tools like Future Planner, which has supported close to 300,000 members in understanding and planning for their retirement," he said.

Cbus separately announced Parisotto's appointment as chief member officer, with chief executive Kristian Fok saying his experience would strengthen the fund's focus on supporting member across the building and construction industry.

"We are acutely aware of the needs of our members and how they differ from the average Australian super fund member, and we have to be responsive to those needs," Fok said.

"Joshua's experience in member services and his background in financial advice will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen how we support members through every stage of their journey with us."

At Cbus, Parisotto will oversee member services, insurance, member performance and complaints. He said he was looking forward to helping evolve the fund's advice offering.

"CBUS holds a unique position in the superannuation landscape, and I'm really excited to be taking on the immense challenge of responding to our members' evolving needs," he said.

HESTA said it will embark on a process in the coming months to inform decisions about the future executive leadership of the member engagement areas.
