MaxCap hires from Vanguard, AustralianSuperBY MATTHEW WAI | FRIDAY, 10 JUL 2026 11:35AM![]() MaxCap has welcomed two senior directors, including a portfolio manager from Australia's largest super fund, reporting to the recently named chief executive Kylie Robb. Based in Melbourne, Greg Wilkinson has joined as head of investment management while Joan Perryman has stepped into the newly created role of chief operating officer. Both have already commenced in their roles. In his new position, Wilkinson is responsible for MaxCap's management and delivery of disciplined portfolio construction, ensuring attractive risk-adjusted returns for fund and institutional investors. Most recently, Wilkinson was the senior portfolio manager at AustralianSuper for close to four years, which came after a 15-year tenure at Frankline Templeton Investments in similar roles. Meanwhile, as chief operating officer, Perryman is focussed on enhancing investor experience while strengthening MaxCap's operating systems, the firm said. Perryman has 25 years of experience across investment operations and outsourcing and client service, joining the firm after a seven-year stint at Vanguard in senior capacities, including head of service partnerships and readiness. Further, Perryman was also employed at Qualitas Group, The Myer Family Company, Perennial Investment Partners, AllianceBernstein, HSBC, and more. Welcoming both appointees, Robb said the firm is taking a further step in its evolution, deepening focus on enhancing investor experience, governance and platform scalability. "I am pleased to welcome two highly experienced executives to the leadership team. Greg and Joan each bring a distinct perspective and deep expertise that will play a critical role in strengthening our investment decision making and operations capabilities," Robb said. "Underpinned by strong and consistent leadership in our origination teams, with an average tenure of 10 years, we have built a platform with strong commercial capabilities, institutional foundations and disciplined governance. "Together with the appointment of Michael Herlihy as chief risk officer earlier this year, the addition of this high-calibre talent enables us to continue to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns for our capital partners into Private Capital opportunities in Australian and New Zealand real estate."
