Interest rate should remain unchanged despite pressures: ICAP

The fall in economic growth from 3.75 per cent in 2002 to 2.75% this year does not call for a major change in Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) policy as regards interest rates, according to Ric Simes, chief economist at global intermediary brokers ICAP.
