Zenith to farewell co-founder, managing director

Zenith co-founder David Wright and managing director Jason Huddy will leave the firm, saying their ambitions for the business no longer match those of owner FE fundinfo.

The research house confirmed Huddy will exit the firm in July, shortly before Wright who will leave in September.

In a statement, Zenith said: "Both individuals believe that their ambitions for the business are no longer aligned with the aspirations of their global parent, and feel it is therefore the right time to leave the business."

Huddy became managing director in August 2023; he joined in 2019 as chief operating officer. Wright, who co-founded the business with David Smythe in 2002, stepped down as chief executive to make the move possible. He has since served as investment director.

The business was acquired by private equity firm Five V Capital in December 2019; this was when Smythe exited. Less than two years later it was sold to London-based FE fundinfo for an undisclosed sum.

At the time, Wright was quoted as saying:  "Management are in agreement that there's excellent alignment of values and purpose across the two organisations, and a belief that together, we can create a really compelling, premium service for advisers, fund managers, super funds and institutional clients."

Zenith thanked Wright and Huddy for their contributions to the business.

"Both David and Jason have played an instrumental role in shaping the leading investment research, ratings and managed accounts business that exists today," Zenith said.

"Their vision, leadership and hard work have helped build a strong foundation for future growth."
