Apex Group head of super to departBY MATTHEW WAI | TUESDAY, 28 JUL 2026 12:09PM![]() Apex Group managing director for superannuation will leave his post in September, joining its technology partner in a C-suite capacity. Andrew Griffiioen is set to leave the company after overseeing its super business for more than four years, joining Novigi as chief strategic growth officer on September 1. Griffioen was most notable for his contribution at IFAA, including as chief executive for two years prior to the acquisition by Apex in May 2022. Reflecting on his career, Griffioen said the time at IFAA helped shape the success of his career. "Over the years, I've had the privilege of working alongside some outstanding people as the business evolved, became part of Apex Group, and grew into one of Australia's leading superannuation administration providers," he noted in an announcement on LinkedIn. "Together we've welcomed exceptional clients, built outstanding teams, delivered some of the industry's most challenging transitions, and continually challenged ourselves to raise the bar for our clients and their members. "I'm enormously grateful to everyone I've worked with across Apex, our clients and our partners. The relationships and experiences I've gained have shaped my career, and I'm proud of everything we've achieved together." He added the next chapter feels like a natural progression with the rapid development of technology, data and artificial intelligence (AI) across the broader financial services industry. "I'm excited to work alongside Ash, Joash and the broader Novigi team to help drive the next phase of growth, deepen our client partnerships, develop new capabilities and explore opportunities both in Australia and internationally," he said. "While my role is changing, my passion for the superannuation industry certainly isn't. I look forward to continuing to work very closely with the Apex team and with many of the same clients, partners and colleagues, just from a different perspective." Apex regional head of Asia Pacific Nicholas Happell confirmed Chris Stevens will assume the role at an interim basis. "Chris has deep experience in driving strategy at an enterprise level, providing Apex and its clients with strong leadership continuity, operational stability and continued focus on client outcomes," Happell told Financial Standard. Meanwhile, Novigi chief executive Ash Priest said he is excited to have Griffioen to join the firm. "As chief strategic growth officer, Andrew will play a key role in Novigi's next phase, helping us expand our capabilities and pursue new opportunities both in Australia and internationally. We look forward to sharing more details and officially welcoming Andrew," Priest said. Related News |
