Former ASIC commissioner joins Insignia TrusteesBY KARREN VERGARA | WEDNESDAY, 4 SEP 2024 12:38PMA former ASIC commissioner will join Insignia Financial as the chair of its trustees business on September 19. Danielle Press also assumes the position of non-executive director at Insignia Financial Trustees, replacing Lindsay Smartt. Press had a five-year tenure at ASIC, having joined in 2018. Before that, she was the chief executive of Myer Family Company between July 2016 and November 2017, and chief executive of Equip Super from 2010 to 2016. She was also a director of now-defunct robo-adviser Six Park and held senior roles at UBS Global Asset Management for about 17 years. Smartt left the post after five years with the organisation. "Danielle's appointment also highlights our ongoing focus on and commitment to uplifting our risk governance culture," he said. "I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Lindsay for his leadership and contribution during his time with us. Lindsay has played a significant role in how we, at Insignia Financial, look after our superannuation members and their best interests." Press said: "I genuinely believe in the power of Australia's superannuation system and what it can deliver for members in retirement. I'm honoured to be joining Insignia Financial at such a transformational time for the organisation and committed to helping drive member outcomes." Insignia recently recruited a former AMP brand and content specialist as its new general manager for brand strategy. Wylie Fowler will develop strategies across all of Insignia's brands but with a focus on promoting the MLC name. Related News |
