DASH appoints new chief executive

DASH Technology Group appointed a new chief executive, replacing the incumbent who left the company in May.

Glenn Poynton is the fintech's new chief executive, having previously held senior roles at Betashares, Class and Macquarie Group.

He finished up as executive director of corporate development at Betashares in December 2025 and prior to that spent more than three years at Class as chief strategy officer.

His 18-year tenure at Macquarie included roles such as division director, wealth product strategy, and head of commercial management for Macquarie Wrap. He has also worked extensively as a consultant to the platform sector.

His appointment follows the departure of DASH's former chief executive Andrew Whelan, who recently stepped down after nearly five years in the role.

Whelan joined the business in 2021 as chief distribution officer when the company was operating as Wealth02.

DASH chair Geoff Lloyd said Poynton's arrival marked an important milestone as the company continues to execute its growth strategy.

"We are fortunate to have Glenn onboard to lead DASH on our journey to develop a new advice model that gives Australians access to the financial planning and investment administration services they need," Lloyd said.

"Glenn has worked in both mature and start-up businesses in Australia and overseas, and has the broad skills and experience needed to continue executing our strategy to deliver innovative whole-of-wealth solutions to advisers and clients."

The appointment follows several recent executive hires, including Sarah Murray as chief product officer and James Louw as chief growth officer earlier this year.

Bailador Technology Investments injected $5 million in the fintech amid another capital raise as it looks to drive further automation, accelerate its direct and partnership go-to-market strategies, and ultimately achieve profitability.

DASH is undertaking another capital raise as it looks to drive further automation, accelerate its direct and partnership go-to-market strategies, and ultimately achieve profitability.

Bailador is investing up to $5 million in this round, with the raise being completed at a valuation that is 21% above its original investment cost and 23% lower than the current carrying value. Bailador said this was reflective of the current market.

In 2025, the group acquired Integrated Portfolio Solutions (IPS) and entered a strategic partnership with global alternatives fintech S64. It now trades as DASH Private, a non-custodial platform designed for private clients, family offices and investment professionals.
