HUB24 expands C-suite with innovation role

HUB24 has strengthened its executive leadership team with the creation of a new chief operating and innovation officer role, bringing technology, innovation and strategy implementation under a broader remit.

Jason Hair has been appointed to the newly created position, following the retirement of HUB24's chief information officer in July. The role incorporates the former chief information officer's responsibilities while expanding its focus to innovation and the delivery of the group's strategic priorities.

Hair joins HUB24 from Westpac, where he served as group chief digital officer and was responsible for the bank's digital strategy, platforms and customer channels supporting more than six million digitally active customers.

He has also held senior leadership roles at Woolworths and Virgin Mobile, with experience across technology, operations, transformation and customer focused business.

HUB24 managing director and chief executive Andrew Alcock said the expanded role reflects the group's continued investment in technology and innovation as it seeks to support growth and improve customer outcomes.

"Jason is a highly regarded leader with deep experience across technology, digital strategy and innovation," Alcock said.

"His leadership will further strengthen our ability to execute at pace, leverage emerging technologies, and deliver solutions that create value for our customers. "

Hair will oversee HUB24s technology, innovation, program management and enterprise solutions functions, as well as the implementation of key strategic initiatives across the group.

This includes the ongoing development of myhub and the adoption of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, as HUB24 seeks to increase productivity and enhance its offering to financial professionals and their clients.

Hair said the platform business had established a strong reputation for innovation and anticipating customer needs.

"I look forward to working with the leadership team to build on that foundation and execute the group's strategy," Hair said.

Alongside the appointment, HUB24 chief operating officer Craig Lawernson will take the title of chief executive, platform, reflecting his end-to-end responsibility for the group's platform business.
