Pella Funds Management co-founder and managing director Steven Glass has passed away.

"To all of us at Pella, Steve was far more than a colleague, he was a close friend and a valued part of our family. From the very beginning, he brought energy, and determination that helped shape our business," the fund manager said on LinkedIn.

"Steve had a remarkable tenacity and an ability to make things happen, while always lifting those around him. He will be remembered just as much for his warmth, humour, and genuine care for people as for his professional impact."

Glass and former Pengana Capital Group staff members launched Pella in 2021, as well as the flagship strategy the Global Generations Fund.

The founding team comprises chief investment officer Jordan Cvetanovski, head of distribution Joy Yacoub, and investment analysts Ryan Fisher and Ronald Yu.

The strategy invests in global, high-quality companies with favourable valuations and strong ethical and environmental, social and governance credentials.

In 2024, the Pella Global Generations Fund launched in New Zealand under a portfolio investment entity structure.

Before Pella, Glass co-founded the Pengana International Equities strategies, also serving as a partner and deputy portfolio manager.

Glass was previously a portfolio manager at Hunter Hall for more than seven years and was part of the combined group when it merged with Pengana Capital.

He also worked as an investment analyst at Platinum Asset Management and equity analyst at Tricom Equities.

"Above all, he was deeply devoted to his wife, children, and family and he will be missed. We remain firmly committed to our clients and to upholding the values that define our firm," Pella said.

"Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time."
