Rest director for product departs

The general manager, product at Rest has left the super fund after nearly four years with the fund.

Scott Tully has departed the $113 billion fund after a close to four-year stint. He joined Rest as head of investment option development in March 2023 on a contract basis before being appointed to general manager, product a year later.

Tully was most notable for his time at Colonial First State, spanning over two decades at the company across various leadership positions, including general manager, investments, head of investments, and head of FirstChoice investments before joining Rest.

He also served as portfolio manager at Commonwealth Investment Management, the investment advice arm of Commonwealth Bank in 2002 earlier in his career.

He shared his departure on LinkedIn, stating he has finished a "very rewarding" tenure at the fund.

"It was an enjoyable time defined by great people, purposeful work and a strong focus on Rest's members. My thanks to Andrew Lill, and Deborah Potts for the opportunities they put to me, and to the fantastic teams I had the privilege to work with," Tully said.

"A particular thanks to the product team for teaching me all things product (including a deep dive into Insurance). Their enthusiasm and focus made it a pleasure, and I'm proud that together we made Rest's investment menu and default insurance Super Simple.

"With some travel ahead, I'm taking the opportunity to reflect on what's next."

This comes after a couple of high-profile exits from the fund in recent months. Former chief financial officer John O'Sullivan left the fund in August to take on the role of head of financial and tax and deputy chief financial officer role at HESTA.

Earlier this month Rest head of regulatory policy also departed the fund to take on the position of chief practice officer at ASFA.
