Inflation eases, experts split on next RBA move

Australia's annual inflation rate eased slightly to 4.2% in the 12 months to April 2026, down from 4.6% annual inflation to March, though persistent cost pressures across the housing and energy continued to weigh on households, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
