Euroz Hartleys names chief executive

Euroz Hartleys Group has named a new chief executive, commencing October 26.

Alan Logan will join Euroz Hartleys to lead the business, as both executive chair Andrew McKenzie and managing director Tim Bunney will transition to the capital markets business under BMO Financial Group following an earlier transaction.

Logan joins after a short stint at Shadforth, where he was the head of Western Australia.

He has an extensive track record of top-level wealth management experience across the industry, including leadership roles at Perpetual, TPT Wealth, Marcona Partners, Godfrey Pembroke, and MLC.

With a strong interest in the not-for-profit sector, Logan also contributed through governance and director roles, including with the Prior Family Foundation and the Royal Botanic Gardens Foundation in Melbourne.

Euroz Hartleys said Logan can provide expertise across wealth management, financial advice and business strategy with a strong focus on adviser relationships, organisational transformation and delivering sustainable commercial outcomes.

Outgoing chair McKenzie commented: "Alan is only our fourth managing director/chief executive in our 26-year history and we welcome Alan to our Euroz Hartleys family."

"This important appointment reflects our new pure play focus on the growth and optimisation of our well-established private wealth business".

The firm also announced its refreshed board lineup effective from the completion of the transaction, welcoming Jay Hughes back as non-executive chair, having served as an executive director from 2000 to 2023.

"Jay was a co-founder of Euroz Securities Limited in November 2000 and currently holds ~7.29% of our company," the firm said.

Meanwhile, two new executive directors, Andrew Fry and Michael Bartley, will join the board.

Fry, currently a private wealth adviser at Euroz Hartleys, has extensive experience advising private clients and in the management of multi-asset class portfolios, having joined Entrust Wealth Management (now part of the Company Group) in 2003 as a senior investment adviser and was appointed a director of Entrust in November 2003.

He served as its managing director from 2012 to 2017 and executive chair from 2017 to 2020.

Meantime, Bartley, also a Euroz Hartleys private wealth adviser, has been working in the stockbroking industry since 2010.

McKenzie and Bunney will also continue as non-executive directors in the short- to medium-term as they transition to full-time roles with BMO.

As a result, non-executive directors Robin Romero and Fiona Kalaf will retire.

McKenzie added: "These important appointments and reorganisation of your new go forward business mark the start of the next chapter of focus and growth for Euroz Hartleys."

"All of these appointments respect our long and successful history and reflect significant thought and planning for future success. We strongly believe our strategic alliance with BMO will create a much stronger overall platform for our Private Wealth clients and assist them in their financial goals.

"We are confident that Euroz Hartleys will continue to generate excellent returns for shareholders as we now focus specifically on the exciting and high growth Private Wealth market segment."
