David Plant will now be responsible for building mutually beneficial alliances across the spectrum of financial advice.
He has worked in the industry for nearly three decades, with previous senior roles including licensee operations, business coaching and customer service. He has also collaborated with regulators and served as a strategic implementer.
AFA chief executive Phil Kewin said: "David has exceptional qualities that will be of great benefit to the AFA community. He's on board with the AFA's vision around the future of advice, and we're delighted that he's joined us on our journey to provide great advice to more Australians."
