RF Capital appoints new retail distribution head

RF Capital welcomed the former head of distribution for Australian Unity to its ranks at the beginning of the year.

Damen Purcell, who left Australian Unity in December 2016, is the new head of retail distribution at RF Capital, the asset management arm of the Roberts Family Office.

Purcell has almost 20 years' experience in financial services, having also previously held senior roles with Colonial First State, JANA Investment Advisers and Ausbil Dexia.

RF Capital chief executive George Kostas said the firm is pleased to have appointed someone of Purcell's calibre.

"Damen has a deep understanding of the domestic financial services industry and his addition to our team will bolster our traction within the growing Australian Retail/Wholesale market," Kostas said.

"Damen has some very strong relationships in key areas of growth for RF Capital and has great depth of experience across alternative assets, commercial debt and real estate, which will help us build a diverse footprint for our business."

Purcell will report to Dean Winterton, RF Capital's global head of client, product and marketing.
