Regal appoints global distribution lead

Regal Funds Management has appointed a new global head of distribution, recruiting from Pendal Group.

Rebecca Fesq will join the investment manager after five years at Pendal Group after where she is head of client experience and direct. She takes on the role of global head of distribution and marketing.

Regal chief investment officer Philip King said the appointment reflects the company's mission to grow the wealth of its investors.

"[Fesq's] appointment reflects the strong demand we are seeing from a growing number of investors and their advisers who recognise and value our ability to consistently delivery true active returns," King said.

Regal chief executive Brendan O'Connor said Regal is focused on building strength in the company's investor relations team.

"[Fesq's] deep experience and proven track record across sales, marketing and client experience in the funds management and investment banking industry made her the perfect candidate for the role," he said.

Fesq said: "As we see an increasing demand for active managers who provide differentiated sources of alpha and non-correlated returns, I am thrilled to be joining... the Regal team during this exciting period of growth."

"Their proven performance and dedication to growing investor wealth, makes them uniquely positioned to play a larger role in the investment portfolios of Australian and global investors that value alternative investments."

The appointment comes after a number of other senior hires this year, including a new global head of global equity income and volatility strategies and a new lead energy sector analyst.
