MLC Life continues to grow its group life insurance business, taking home a new mandate.
From next year, MLC Life Insurance will be the local insurer for Generali Employee Benefits (GEB) for its multi-national clients.
The insurer will provide group cover for death, TPD and income protection, and access to its Best Doctors and Mental Health Navigator programs.
"MLC Life Insurance is delighted to be able to partner with GEB to support its clients here in Australia. We feel privileged to be working with such an influential employee benefits provider," MLC Life chief of group and retail partners Sean McCormack said.
GEB is a global "captive and pooling" network; 'captive' meaning the capability of larger multinational clients to self-insure 100% of the global group insurance risk, and 'pooling' refers to the ability for them to spread the risk across multiple countries and share in any positive insurance experience by way of dividends.
GEB general manager Ludovic Bayard and chief network officer Tierry Mestach welcomed MLC Life as a partner to its firm.
"We are delighted to introduce a top player in the Australian market for life and disability to our GEB clients," they said.
McCormack said the mandate underpins the insurer's strength in the group insurance market.
"Our team is focused on providing innovative health and wellness programs that corporate clients can tailor to their needs, as well as delivering our underlying insurance capabilities," he said.
As a group cover client of MLC Life, GEB joins the likes of Maritime Super, Vision Super and Qantas Super.
