MetLife has confirmed the appointment of a new head of group product, joining from Swiss Re.
Dean Mulheron will lead MetLife's group product design and oversee product development and strategy across the group insurance portfolio.
Mulheron replaces Stephen Sefton who was appointed to the role in January and departed in June.
Mulheron joins MetLife from Swiss Re where he was head of life and health solutions for Australia and New Zealand.

How much further can global growth fly?
"Dean brings a customer focused approach to product design with a passion for building products that are truly relevant to people, making him a good fit for MetLife," MetLife said.
Prior to Swiss Re, Mulheron served in various roles at CommInsure and Colonial First State.
MetLife said Mulheron will work closely with partners and clients to deliver innovative, sustainable and customer oriented solutions. He will report directly to MetLife head of group insurance James Carey.
Welcoming Mulheron, Carey said the insurer is excited to have him join the team in what he described as a critical role.
"We are the third largest group insurer in Australia and we're focused on continual improvement for our partners and their members," he said.
"Delivering relevant products that meet customer needs now, and anticipating their needs in the future, is what it's all about. Dean brings the kind of experience and focus to help us do that."
