Mercer names administration services lead

Mercer Australia appointed a new leader for its administration business, who will take the post in July.

Craig Rice will join Mercer Administration Services, based in Wollongong. He takes over from Jo-Anne Bloch, who led the business for two years.

She continues her current role as head of industry and public sector funds, and will also lead the client service teams.

Bloch first joined the firm's human resources department in 2004 and returned in May 2010 as a financial advice leader. She was the chief executive of the Financial Planning Association of Australia between 2016 and 2010.

Her successor previously held senior roles at Superpartners across client and fund services.

His most current role was head of operations at MiFund, which provides loans for medical treatments.

Mercer commercial operations leader Chris Stevens said: "With Craig at the helm, drawing on his experience in high-volume, fast-paced and highly regulated customer focused environments, we have every confidence that Mercer Administration Services will go from strength to strength."

Rice commented that he looks forward to working with clients and supporting the financial needs of members to secure their retirement wealth.

Mercer Administration Services has more than $100 billion in funds under administration across 1.1 million member accounts. It has more than 500 employees in the Illawarra region.
