KPMG hires legal services partner

KPMG's Australian legal advisory business has hired a partner from Norton Rose Fulbright to work with financial services companies.

Zein El Hassan is the 19th partner on the KPMG Law Australia team. He will report to the team's head Stuart Fuller.

El Hassan joins from Norton Rose Fulbright where he led the financial services risk advisory team.

Prior to this he was a partner at Clayton Utz and previously, Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

In November, KPMG hired a long-standing member of the Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets team to sustain its relationships with superannuation funds.

Samantha Brewer joined KPMG as a transaction services partner as a part of KPMG's deals, tax and legal division.

For the last 12 years she worked across Macquarie's infrastructure and specialised investment products including five years in London.

At MIRA, she had a particular focus on managing client relationships for domestic institutions and foreign clients investing in Australia and on executing consortium equity and principal transactions.

In her new role, Brewer is to lead and maintain KPMG's relationships with domestic superannuation funds and alternative capital markets.
