Jarden Strengthens advisory team with Rothschild exec

Jarden has nabbed a Rothschild & Co heavyweight to further bolster its trans-Tasman strategic advisory business.

Sam Prentice has joined the trans-Tasman stockbroker as a managing director.

Jarden said he has been instrumental in building Rothschild's Australian franchise over a long and distinguished career, leading coverage of clients across a broad range of sectors including industrials, consumer, retail and & healthcare.

Prentice had been with Rothschild for almost two decades. Before joining the firm he worked in investment banking at ABN AMRO and Macquarie.

According to the broker, Prentice is one of the country's leading dealmakers, having advised on many landmark transactions over the past decade.

These include Asahi's acquisition of Carlton & United Breweries, CCEP's takeover of Coca-Cola Amatil and most recently, the merger of Chemist Warehouse with Sigma Healthcare.

Jarden's recently appointed executive chairman, Aidan Allen, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Sam to the Jarden team. His expertise in navigating complex, high-profile transactions, combined with his close and trusted advisory relationships across corporate Australia, will be invaluable to our firm."

Prentice will join the Melbourne team and work alongside senior bankers Adam Lennen, Stephen Pickles, Ian Arnold and Chris Bryan.

Jarden's recent advisory work includes engagements with ASX 100 and NZX 50 companies, including Dyno Nobel, Origin, Stockland, Woolworths, Fonterra and Spark New Zealand.

The firm has also led significant capital markets transactions in the last financial year, including debt and equity raises for Fletcher Building, Ryman Healthcare, Auckland International Airport, New Hope, and Summerset Group, among others.

The announcement follows last week's leadership changes.

Aside from Allen leading the board, Daniel Reynolds was appointed co-chief executive alongside Sarah Rennie.
These appointments follow a governance and leadership review and come as Jarden concludes its 2025 financial year with performance in corporate finance equities and fixed-income currencies & commodities.
