Global manager hires IFM associate director

The Melbourne office of a global equities manager has hired an IFM Investors associate director for its institutional business down under.

Stuart Place is joining Orbis Investment Management after nearly eight years at IFM.

He will take on the role of a senior institutional client manager, working with Orbis's local institutional clients.

Prior to IFM, he worked at Mercer for nearly four years.

Orbis's global equity fund has a successful long-term track record, with its local investor base including high-net-worths such as David Orford and his family office..

Orbis Investment Management currently manages in excess for $12 billion in client funds, according to Rainmaker data, in global equities with the majority sourced from institutional clients.
