Frontier expands business, hires five

Frontier Advisors has bolstered its consulting teams with five new hires in a bid to grow the firm.

Paul Tulloch will join the alternatives and derivatives research team as a senior consultant after spending eight years as a derivatives trader with Optiver, based in Sydney and more recently Amsterdam.

His remit is to help expand Frontier's exchange-traded options, warrants and futures capabilities.

Tulloch will be joined in that team by new associate Donna Davis, who was most recently an options management analyst at AustralianSuper.

Iain McMahon joins as a consultant in Frontier's debt and currency team. He previously worked at J.P. Morgan's London office where he has spent the last four years providing quantitative and qualitative portfolio analysis, and other risk management functions across different asset classes.

Having recently lectured at RMIT, Ann Tran joins the capital markets and asset allocation team as an econometrics associate, bringing her background in economic research and macroprudential policies for emerging economies.

Also joining as an associate, Thushani de Silva will move into a client-facing advisory role at Frontier after working as an investment analyst at Zenith Investment Partners.

Frontier will soon announce the appointment of its new director of sector research. This addition will bring the firm to a headcount of 74, up from 54 two years ago.

Chief executive Andrew Polson said the firm has been recruiting for some time and it's exciting to bring a significant number of highly credentialed people to the business. He flagged that nine more people will join the firm shortly.

"These roles represent a significant investment in developing our proposition for the rapidly evolving needs of our existing clients, in particular. In addition, they position us well as we grow into new markets," Polson said.
