A former MLC and NAB Wealth executive has taken a directorship with Challenger.
Duncan West has been appointed as an independent non-executive director to both the Challenger and Challenger Life Company boards.
West is a former executive general manager of insurance at MLC and NAB Wealth and brings more than 30 years' in financial services experience.
He has also previously served as chief executive of Vero Insurance and CGU Insurance, and is currently on the board of Genworth Mortgage Insurance.
Challenger chair Peter Polson said the organisation is pleased to welcome West to the board.
"He brings significant commercial acumen and expertise, including deep knowledge of the Australian and global insurance sector, that will contribute to the mix of skills and perspectives of the board," he said.
Challenger also announced that longstanding board director Graham Cubbin will not stand for re-election at the upcoming annual general meeting. He has served on the board since 2004.
Polson thanked Cubbin for his service, describing him as dedicated and committed to the organisation's transformation.
"I have always appreciated his experience and insight and wish him all the best for the future," Polson said.
