Crowe Horwath added a Grafton-based accounting practice to its network, in what the firm described as a major step in its expansion strategy.
Family-owned business R.G. Turns Accounting and Taxation has operated in Grafton for more than 25 years, and founder and principal Bob Turns said the acquisition by Crowe Horwath sees an alignment of values and commitment to regional Australia.
"The acquisition marks a significant step forward for R.G.Turns, which will offer our loyal clients national expertise with a local presence, while ensuring they are as valued as ever. Crowe Horwath has a 50-year history in the Grafton region and mirrors our vision of staying local, but growing in order to offer clients more," Turns said.
Existing clients of R.G. Turns will now receive a comprehensive suite of financial services, with Turns and senior accountant Jennifer McLellan joining Crowe Horwath.
"The team at Crowe Horwath Grafton is excited to be taking an active role in servicing the loyal and long standing clients of Bob Turns. Both businesses have strong ties and a long and successful history with the Clarence community," Glenn Thompson, partner at Crowe Horwath Grafton, said.
Likewise, Crowe Horwath Grafton partner Johannes Venter said: "The acquisition of Bob Turns' firm continues the Crowe Horwath spirit of having regional businesses and private clients as the cornerstone of our professional financial services firm."
Crowe Horwath now operates more than 110 offices across Australia and New Zealand, and 60% of its local business originates from outside of capital cities, demonstrating a strong investment in regional Australia.
