Challenger hires head of insto partnerships

A global manager's former lead for institutional sales down under is joining Challenger as its head of institutional partnerships.

Simon Brinsmead is joining the life company after over eight years at DWS.

In his most recent role, he was most recently DWS's head of consultant relations EMEA & Asia.

He also worked as the co-head of DWS's institutional sales for Australia and New Zealand for over six years.

Last month, Challenger named a new chief executive for its funds management business after Ian Saines announced his intention to retire from the role in June.

The job went to Nick Hamilton, who has led Challenger's multi-boutique business Fidante Partners since 2016 as its general manager.

Challenger is yet to announce a replacement general manager for Fidante.

Meanwhile, Hamilton will continue to oversee the Fidante team until the company finds a replacement, a spokesperson said.
