Alceon strengthen capital raising leadership

Alceon has restructured its capital raising leadership, appointing a new head of wholesale capital and establishing dedicated oversight of institutional investor relationships as demand for private market investments grows.

The investment firm as appointed Aiden McCluskey to the newly created role of head of wholesale capital, while Omar Khan will take on the position of head of institutional and international capital. Both will report to Alceon head of funds management Grant Atchison.

McCluskey will lead domestic distribution across financial advisers, family offices, asset consultants, research providers, platforms and high-net-worth investors. He joins from senior roles at Pantheon and MA Financial, bringing more than a decade of capital raising and distribution experience.

Khan, who has spent more than five years in Alceon's distribution team, will oversee institutional and offshore relationships, including investors and partners across Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Alceon chief executive David Gribble said the appointments would provide clearer leadership across the firm's investor channels and strengthen its ability to respond to demand.

"We are thrilled to welcome Aidan to the expanded team and pleased with the opportunity it provides to elevate Omar's leadership of our institutional and offshore relationships. Both Omar and Aidan bring impressive commercial acumen and an innate ability to establish and build trusted relationships," Gribble said.

He said dedicated leadership would support more tailored engagement with investors and partners.

"Demand for high-quality private market opportunities continues to grow both domestically and overseas. With dedicated senior leaders, Alceon will be well-positioned to offer our partners and investors more tailored solutions and a streamlined pathway to investment opportunities or capital," Gribble said.

The appointments follow the addition of Michael Dowsett as associate director in wholesale capital and Guy Silbert in Melbourne earlier this year, as Alceon continues to expand its investor-facing operations.

The leadership changes come after the firm made its first investment through its newly launched Private Equity Access Fund, acquiring a majority stake in Australian Microsoft partner Engage Squared in September.
