WAM offers global real assets exposure via new offeringBY MATTHEW WAI | FRIDAY, 15 MAY 2026 11:54AMWilson Asset Management (WAM) has launched a real assets fund, providing investors with exposure to assets, including natural capital like water, agriculture and timber. The Wilson Asset Management Real Assets Fund (WRAF) will partner with specialist managers across real assets globally, including Australia, to invest in real assets. The fund will be structured as a semi-liquid evergreen strategy available to wholesale and retail advised clients, WAM said. The portfolio is targeting returns of 9% net of fees including a 5% distribution yield once the portfolio is mature. It has an investment horizon of minimum five years. The fund requires a minimum of $50,000 as initial investment, and $25,000 for additional investments thereafter. Investors will incur 15.375% of performance fees subject to a high-water mark and a 6% p.a. hurdle, and 1.570% in management fees annually. Further, applications for the seed round will close on 5 June 2026, with WAM saying investors may wish to participate prior to this date to secure the reduced management fee of 0.70% per annum. "The fundamentals and valuations look attractive across real assets at this point in the cycle, and these assets can provide strong diversification benefits to an investor's portfolio, including income generation, inflation protection, resilience in market downturns and consistent returns uncorrelated to traditional assets such as listed equities," WAM said. The fund will be managed by the WAM Alternative Assets (ASX: WMA) investment team, led by portfolio manager Nick Kelly alongside investment analysts Jacob Grover and Jasper Yeghiaian-Alvandi. Equity Trustees has been appointed the Responsible Entity for the fund. Related News |
