Macquarie names local head of private capital markets

Macquarie Capital has welcomed a new head of private capital markets Australia and New Zealand.

Melannie Pyzik has commenced in the new role, joining from CIM Group, where she was head of Asia Pacific, institutional client group for nearly two years.

She brings 25 years' experience in investments, business development and investor relationship to the fold. Before CIM, she was co-lead partner and head of investor solutions at Argo Infrastructure Partners between 2019 and 2024 and was the investment specialist for global infrastructure at QIC for five years.

Earlier in her career, she spent close to a decade at Macquarie Group before joining Credit Suisse.

Macquaire Capital global head of private capital markets Joanne Spillane welcomed the appointment.

"I am so delighted to welcome Melannie Pyzik back to Macquarie Capital as executive director, head of private capital markets for Australia and New Zealand, based in Sydney," Spillane said on LinkedIn.

"Melannie brings significant global experience and deep expertise in infrastructure and real assets investing, alongside her warmth and energy, which will further strengthen our investor and client advisory relationships.

"Tim Joyce and I look forward to the positive impact she will make across our business, supporting our leading sector teams in ANZ."

Pyzik said she was looking forward to working alongside Spillane in her new role, adding that having begun her career at Macquarie the move feels "less like a new chapter and more like coming home".

"I'm excited to be back with the broader Macquarie Capital team and particularly looking forward to working with Jo Spillane, who leads the Private Capital group globally," she said.
