Acclaim Wealth names chief executive

The Brisbane-based wealth and superannuation business has appointed a new chief executive, as former boss Terry Constable landed a new role at Infocus after almost three years at the helm.

Julie Hamilton has taken on the role of chief executive, joining from DDH Graham where she served as director of money market since 2008.

Bringing over 25 years' experience across wealth management, platform administration, licensee services and adviser support operations, Hamilton held senior management and compliance roles at MLC, BDO Financial Planning, Synergy Capital Management and Macquarie Investment Management.

Most recently, Hamilton was overseeing strategic relationships, business development, product strategy, governance, compliance and operational initiatives across the DDH Graham business.

Commenting, Acclaim Wealth chair Ugo Di Girolamo explained Hamilton's experience places the business in good stead.

"Julie brings a rare combination of strategic leadership, deep operational expertise and a genuine understanding of what advisers need from their platform partner," Di Girolamo said.

"Through her work at money market, she already has strong relationships across our clients and adviser communities, and a deep appreciation of the qualities that make Acclaim different.

"As we position the business for its next phase of growth, we wanted a leader who could continue strengthening our adviser proposition while ensuring we maintain the high service standards our advisers and clients expect. Julie's experience across wealth management, distribution, compliance and operations makes her exceptionally well placed to lead Acclaim into its next chapter."

Di Girolamo also thanked Constable, who stepped down to take on a new role at Infocus as executive general manager, platforms.

"Terry has played a pivotal role in shaping Acclaim Wealth into the adviser-focused business it is today," Di Girolamo said.

"As part of the role transition, Terry and Julie have already been working closely together to ensure a smooth handover. On behalf of the board, we thank Terry for his leadership, dedication and contribution to the company and wish him every success in the future."

Hamilton said she was excited to be joining Acclaim Wealth at a pivotal time for the business.

"Acclaim Wealth has built a strong reputation for supporting advisers and delivering high-quality outcomes for clients. I am looking forward to working with the board, executive team, employees and advisers to build on that foundation and continue driving growth and service excellence," she said.

"The opportunity to lead a business with such a strong adviser focus is incredibly exciting, and I look forward to helping shape the next stage of Acclaim's journey."

Hamilton's appointment follows Aimie West's appointment to chief operating officer.

Meanwhile, Equity Trustees Superannuation Limited (ETSL), Equity Trustees' super trustee business, has acted as the trustee for Acclaim Wealth. However, Equity Trustees has since ditched the business, which posted a $7.5 million loss in FY26 for the group.

Responding to Financial Standard's query, Acclaim Wealth said ETSL will continue to be the trustee for the business.

"Equity Trustees' plan to exit from superannuation trusteeship (via ETSL) is progressing and we understand that they are aiming to complete that process by end FY27," the firm said.

"In the meantime, ETSL remains the trustee of Acclaim, and there is no change to the service of the fund, or its members."
