Acclaim Wealth appoints head of distribution

Acclaim Wealth has appointed Tony Smith as head of distribution.

Smith will lead Acclaim's distribution strategy, adviser engagement initiatives and business development activities nationally, with a focus on supporting existing adviser relationships and identifying new growth opportunities.

Smith brings more than two decades of experience in financial services distribution, having held senior leadership roles with ClearView Wealth and CommInsure.

Acclaim Wealth chief executive Julie Hamilton said Smith's appointment reflected the firm's commitment to invest in adviser relationships and expanding its national distribution.

Along with his distribution experience, Smith is also an admitted Australian lawyer, most recently establishing his own legal practice. Acclaim Wealth noted his legal background will provide additional insight into regulatory and governance issues impacting financial services businesses.

Smith said he is excited to join Acclaim Wealth at an important stage in the company's development.

The Brisbane-based wealth management firm recently appointed Hamilton as its chief executive after former boss Terry Constable landed a new role at Infocus after almost three years at the helm.
