UBS deputy head of research departs

UBS has appointed a new deputy head of research as the incumbent leaves the company after almost nine years.

James Coghill led UBS's insurance coverage after joining in 2010 and was appointed deputy head of research in 2015.

He has decided to leave sell side research, UBS said.

UBS has appointed Ben Gilbert, consumer analyst as Coghill's replacement for the deputy head role. Gilbert started with UBS as an intern in 2004.

Insurance coverage will now be responsibility of Kieren Chidgey, who is adding it to his current coverage of diversified financials.

Following the changes, the research executive committee will include APAC head of research Damien Horth and four executives for Australia and New Zealand: head of research Simon Mitchell, deputy head of research Ben Gilbert, associate ANZ director of research and product manager Craig Stafford and research business manager Ieuan Albury.
