Australia's sovereign wealth fund said Matthew comes on board as director of responsible Investment . Before joining the Future Fund, she was investment director for sustainable investment, APAC at Wellington management. Matthew will report to Kristen, Kirsten Simpson, who leads the dedicated, responsible investment team. The second recruit has been appointed director of portfolio risk. Gupta was previously an investment manager with HESTA, where he focused on portfolio construction and risk. "With the recent addition of Edwina and Ashish, our Sydney office now accommodates more than 40 team members and encompasses all five of our primary business units," the Future Fund said. Interestingly, a former WTW head of credit has rejoined the asset consultant as a director after a two-year break. Simon James has returned to the investment business in Australia to work with clients. In his role as a senior member of the credit manager research team, he was responsible for researching fixed income and credit managers across both traditional and alternative credit sectors, as well as advising clients on portfolio construction for these asset classes. Before rejoining WTW, James spent over 11 years at Funds SA, where he most recently served as a portfolio manager. He managed the debt sector, which included cash, sovereign bonds, inflation-linked bonds, corporate credit, and emerging market debt, in addition to overseeing liquid alternatives. Earlier in his career, James held positions as a senior investment analyst, assistant portfolio manager, and investment analyst.
