Former UBS Asset Management executive pops up at RAM

Real Asset Management (RAM) has appointed a new head of distribution in Bryce Doherty, the former managing director of UBS Asset Management Australia.

Doherty is also an executive director at the alternative asset manager, having recently finished up as managing director of Digital Asset Capital Management (DACM) , an institutional investor in digital assets, after five years.

Prior to that, Doherty oversaw led the local asset management business of UBS for the for nearly eight years and also served as its head of wholesale.

He previously worked in business development roles at BT Investment Management/Pendal Group, AXA, Perpetual and Challenger.

He also worked with the Financial Services Council for more than six years as a director and a member of the funds management board committee.

RAM group chief executive and managing director Scott Kelly welcomed Doherty, saying he shares the same heritage and has significant experience in growing businesses in Australia, having held senior roles across the industry.

"His appointment will further strengthen our team as RAM continues to grow," he said.

Founded in 2010, RAM has more than $8.8 billion in assets under management.

Doherty commented he is "delighted to be joining RAM at such an exciting point in its growth.

"I've known Scott Kelly for many years and have always had enormous respect for what he and the team have built. The opportunity to work with Scott and help build on the stellar growth RAM has already achieved was a very compelling one and I'm excited about what we can accomplish from here," Doherty said.

RAM Income Capital recently completed the close of its wholesale placement of RAM Secured Income Notes Tranche 2, which is listed on the ASX as RAMHA.

Some $125 million was raised against an initial target of up to $100 million.

"We've seen very strong demand from investors and brokers for a simple, lower-risk income product," Kelly said.

"The transaction was investor-led from the outset. Since listing in October 2025, RAMHA has consistently traded well in the secondary market relative to peers and met every scheduled distribution. That track record is one of the key drivers of the demand we saw for this placement."
