Anthony Doyle joins Schroders as director

Schroders Investment Management has nabbed former Firetrail Investments head of investment strategy Anthony Doyle to be its director of global equities investment.

Reporting to Ray Macken, head of client group, Australia and New Zealand, Doyle is based in Schroders' Sydney office.

He will lead the newly launched Global Equity Alpha strategy and the global Quantitative Equity Products (QEP) strategies, which have attracted over $14 billion of investments from Australian clients.

Schroders Australia chief executive Simon Doyle said Anthony Doyle's extensive experience will help drive the asset manager's global equity capabilities in Australia.

"Anthony will have a strong client facing role and will be the bridge between our clients and our global equities portfolio managers locally and globally," Simon Doyle said.

"This will enhance our ability to deliver to the overall investment needs of our clients and provide solutions through our select, high quality global equity investment capabilities."

With over two decades of asset management experience across institutional and intermediary channels, as well as with brokers and the direct-to-consumer market, Anthony Doyle has worked with active ETFs for several years.

Prior to working at Pinnacle-backed Firetrail Investments, Doyle was Fidelity's director, cross-asset investment specialist.

Until 2019, Doyle was based in the UK for a decade working for global asset manager M&G Investments where he set up the investment specialist role and led a team across fixed income equities, multi-asset and property.

Prior to this he had a brief stint in Dublin, Ireland, in fixed income at Pioneer Investments after originally emigrating from Australia where he was an economist for Macquarie Group.
