State Super farewells investment strategy chief

State Super chief investment strategy officer will leave the post early next month after spending almost a decade at the public sector fund.

Keri Pratt will retire on November 3, wrapping up her career in financial services spanning over 40 years.

Pratt joined State Super in 2017 and was head of institutional for Australia and New Zealand at Franklin Templeton Investments before that.

She also served as head of client service at GMO Australia between 2001 and 2011, and held investment specialist, product and consulting roles at NAB, MLC and Lendlease.

Pratt has been the chief investment strategy officer since October 2025 and is responsible for State Super's asset-liability management objectives in negotiation with state and federal governments.

She also works with chief executive John Livanas and the board to develop investment strategies for each of the scheme's investment options, overseeing implementation and effectiveness of the $30 billion investment outsourcing arrangement with TCorp and the $7 billion investment outsourcing arrangement with Frontier Advisors with her team.

State Super shared news of Pratt's retirement on LinkedIn.

"Our chief executive, John Livanas, paid tribute to Keri's years of service and dedication to State Super and our members, acknowledging the significant contribution she has made throughout her time with us," it said.

"We thank Keri for her unwavering commitment and wish her all the very best as she looks forward to this exciting new chapter."

Following Pratt's departure, her team will report to chief operating officer, finance and investments Nish Patel, State Super confirmed.

The defined benefit scheme recently added several appointments to its board, including Michael Dwyer as chair, who brings more than three decades of experience across superannuation, investment management and financial services.

Meanwhile, Pharmacy Guild of Australia (NSW Branch) state director Daniel Kicuroski joined the board last month.
