Guillermo Veiga will take on the role, succeeding Marta Zarraga, who will retire at the end of the year. Veiga will relocate to California from Singapore where he currently serves as group chief information and operations officer at Standard Chartered Bank. "Technology, data and AI play an increasingly important role in how we deliver investment excellence, serve clients globally and scale our business," Capital Group chief operating officer Rob Klausner said. "Guillermo brings a rare combination of deep technology expertise, operational leadership and global transformation experience. His track record leading large, complex organizations makes him the right leader to help advance Capital's long-term strategy and position us for the opportunities ahead." Veiga began his career as a hands-on technologist and has held senior leadership roles across Europe and Asia at Amazon Web Services, Cisco and Banco Santander. "I was drawn by Capital Group's long-term commitment to its people and culture paired with its client-centric mindset," Veiga said. "Capital is on the cutting edge of technology, and the opportunity to help lead during a period of global expansion for the company, amid the growing ability of data and AI to transform ways of working, is exciting."
