ASFA names new board membersBY KARREN VERGARA | FRIDAY, 30 OCT 2026 10:59AMThe Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) has appointed two new members to its board of directors. Australian Retirement Trust (ART) chief executive Kathy Vincent and Brighter Super chief executive Kate Farrar will commence their board duties in December. Newly minted ASFA chair Linda Elkins said they bring fresh perspectives and depth of experience to the already highly experienced board as it navigates a pivotal time for superannuation. "Their collective experience across different parts of the super and finance systems will help set up ASFA to support the sector through significant demographic changes and a time of economic challenge," Elkins said. Vincent replaced David Anderson in October 2025 as chief executive and prior to that appointment was ART's chief operating officer. Prior to joining ART she held senior roles at BT, Macquarie Group, MLC and NAB in executive roles across product, operations, advice and strategy. "Helping people move from saving for retirement to living a confident retirement is one of the most important challenges facing our sector," Vincent said. "I look forward to working with ASFA to help more Australians access the support and advice they need to make the most of their super and their retirement." Farrar has been the chief executive of Brighter Super since 2018, overseeing the merger of LGIAsuper and Energy Super and the acquisition of Suncorp Super. "Leading a member-owned fund that brings together industry, public-sector and retail heritage has shown me the value of different perspectives. I look forward to bringing that experience to the board to help strengthen the system and deliver even better retirement outcomes," Farrar said. Australian Ethical, Bloomberg, the Centre for Corporate Health (CFCH), Commonwealth Bank and Oak Hill Advisors recently joined ASFA as new members in 2026. ASFA said growing its membership base reflected the diversity of Australia's superannuation sector and the value of bringing a wider range of perspectives into industry discussions. Related News |
