Russell Investments names investment head for APACBY ELIZABETH FRY | THURSDAY, 29 MAY 2025 1:03PM![]() Russell Investments has appointed Andrew Pease as head of investments for Asia-Pacific as the US asset manager deepens its regional presence amid volatile markets. Pease, who recently served as global chief investment strategist, brings over 30 years of experience in asset allocation, portfolio strategy, and macroeconomic research. In the new role, Pease will oversee the Asia-Pacific investment division and work with regional and global teams to develop outcome-orientated investment products for local clients. Further, he will relocate from London to Sydney. Pease will report to Jon Eggins who heads up portfolio management at Russell Investments which has $US300 billion in assets under management and $US1 trillion under advice. His mandate includes enhancing the alignment between global research and local portfolio needs and strengthening multi-asset strategies. The new APAC investments head is also tasked with advising clients through shifting market conditions which call for more sophisticated portfolio products. "Andrew is a seasoned investor with a long history at Russell Investments and a deep understanding of global markets," said Kate El-Hillow, Russell Investments president and chief investment officer. "His appointment reflects our commitment to deepening regional expertise and better aligning our investment platform with client needs across the globe." Russell Investments head of Asia Pacific Jason Edgar added that clients in the region increasingly expect access to globally integrated, locally relevant investment solutions. "Andrew's global experience, longstanding client relationships, and deep connection to the region make him ideally positioned to help us deliver on that promise." Eggins also noted that the appointment strengthened the asset manager's investment leadership bench in Asia Pacific. "His {Andrews} ability to connect macro insights to portfolio outcomes will directly benefit clients, especially as they navigate an increasingly complex investment landscape." Pease joined Russell Investments in 2006. Before serving as global chief investment strategist, he held the same role for the Asia-Pacific region. The investment professional brings extensive experience as an economist, strategist, fund manager, and former central banker, with previous roles at Macquarie Bank, JPMorgan, Nomura Securities, and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
