The former chief investment officer of IOOF has joined the board of a $2.2 billion industry superannuation fund.
Stephen Merlicek has joined the board of AvSuper as an independent director.
Merlicek was chief investment officer at IOOF for eight years to June 2017. Prior to this he served in the same role at Telstra Super for a decade.
At the 2017 SelectingSuper Awards, Rainmaker Group managing director Christopher Page presented Merlicek with the Industry Service Award for their outstanding contribution in and around the superannuation industry.
Stuart Brades has also been appointed to the aviation industry fund's board.
Brades is a nomination to the board by the ACTU. He is an air traffic controller in the Perth Tower and vice president of the Finance for the Civil Air Operations Officers Association of Australia.
