A $4.9 billion industry superannuation fund partnered with a financial planning technology firm as part of a rebrand of its advice offering to members.
BUSSQ is working with Midwinter Financial Services, rolling out its AdviceOS platform to enhance face-to-face and phone-based financial advice services. It is also using Midwinter's client engagement tool, Client Portal.
BUSSQ relaunched its financial advice arm as Skylight Financial Solutions last year, providing advice on all topics, both inside and outside of super such as budgeting, wealth creation and estate planning.
The partnership with Midwinter is a part of that rebrand, with BUSSQ selecting Midwinter in mid-2017 because of its ability to easily integrate third-party solutions, particularly super fund registry platforms and CRMs.
BUSSQ executive officer of Skylight Financial Solutions David Southwood said he is pleased with the decision.
"Changing financial planning software providers can be daunting but for us the transition went smoothly. We have found significant time saving and efficiency benefits as a result of this change, meaning we can do more of the important things in business like being in front of members and clients," Southwood said.
Midwinter head of institutional growth Salvador Saiz said he is delighted with the new partnership.
"Midwinter has worked closely with the BUSSQ and Skylight team to ensure that AdviceOS has met their exact requirements, particularly in the unique way that their phone-based advice interacts with the face-to-face component of their advice process," he said.
Saiz added the partnership gives BUSSQ an ability to not only monitor and supervise the advice as it is delivered, but provides an additional compliance overlay for advisers to ensure they are acting in their clients' best interests.
"BUSSQ now has a modern, best-of-breed approach to digitalising their advice process while making sure the advice provided is of a high quality. There has been no compromise between our initial white-board planning session with David and the outcome that has been achieved," Saiz said.
