Zurich Australia's investment arm has awarded a mandate to a $1.2 trillion global manager.
Zurich Investment Management has allocated an undisclosed amount to Insight Investment's Diversified Inflation Plus Fund for its diversified strategies - including its 40-year-old Managed Growth Fund - as it looks to protect against uncertain market directions.
Insight's fund aims to provide investors with returns while markets are volatile, and invests in assets with a linkage to inflation.
Its total return component targets sources of income which are "less reliant on the broad direction of the markets" according to Insight.

Zurich head of savings and investments Matthew Drennan said the fund's diversification was a major factor in its selection.
"We selected the Insight Fund for our Managed Growth Fund as it focuses on diversification and downside protection using a robust, disciplined investment process," Drennan said.
"With market volatility expected to continue, we see Insight's approach complementing our existing strategic investment partners."
The underlying strategy of Insight's fund was launched in the UK in 2004, and first hit Australian shores in 2014.
Head of Insight's multi-asset strategy group, Matt Merritt, said the fund's approach was based on three "simple principles".
"Diversification, dynamic asset allocation and downside risk management," he said.
"Investors need access to a broad range of return sources to successfully navigate the evolving market environment."
