Mercer appointed a senior client manager responsible for overseeing industry and public sector fund clients from Link Group.
Paul Giles joins Mercer's Sydney office as a partner on June 11. He will be helping trustees provide more value to members amid regulatory reforms and scrutiny.
Giles was most recently at Link Group, where was general manager of Rest service delivery, and general manager of legislation and regulatory reform, for over two years.
Before Link, he was managing director at advisory firm APG Consulting for two years and was chief of staff to the Federal Assistant Treasurer, and worked alongside senators Arthur Sinodinos and Amanda Vanstone.

Between 20016 and 2013, he held senior roles at the Insurance Council of Australia as general manager government and stakeholder relations, and communications.
Client management leader for industry and public sector Jo-Anne Bloch said Giles' strong knowledge of the issues faced by industry and public sector funds, as well as his expertise at a policy and regulatory level, will help clients cut through the complexity to best serve members.
"The superannuation sector is experiencing a time of significant change, with a raft of regulatory and legislative changes underway including Protecting Your Super and BEAR. Now more than ever, we have a much more impactful role to play as a partner to trustees," Bloch said.
