Clime Investment Management is expanding its reach to self-directed investors by adding four portfolios to an online platform.
OpenInvest now hosts Clime's defensive income, sustainable income, robust growth and maximum growth portfolios on its platform.
Clime previously focused on wholesale and sophisticated investors. It joins six other investment managers on OpenInvest, including Macquarie, Schroders and JBWere.
Clime chief executive Rod Bristow said: "It's becoming quite evident that self-directed investors, and especially self-managed super fund (SMSF) trustees, want ease of access to professional investment managers, and that is what the OpenInvest platform offers."
OpenInvest co-founder and chief executive Andrew Varlamos commented in a post-Royal Commission environment, providing online access to professional investment managers is a logical solution for self-directed investors wanting quality investment information.
"For many of these people, either the cost of personal advice is beyond their means or they simply don't want to engage an adviser," Varlamos said.
Clime recently appointed Adam Youkhana as general manager of private wealth and distribution.
He was most recently the general manager of wealth at ASX-listed Yellow Brick Road.
Former Schroders Australia chief executive Greg Cooper joined OpenInvest as a non-executive director in early 2019.
