Challenger director jumps to global manager

A global private markets manager has hired an experienced Challenger director to lead its efforts in Australia and New Zealand.

Warwick Mancini is joining HarbourVest Partners as a principal, making him responsible for investor relations for the region.

He has 25 years of experience in the industry, including six years at Challenger's Sydney offices.

His responsibilities at Challenger included global investor and consultant relations for sourcing co-investment capital and for originating and executing transactions across the fixed income, private credit, infrastructure, and real estate sectors, HarbourVest said.

"Warwick has a proven track record and has established strong relationships across Australian investors and consultants, as well as across Asia," HarbourVest Partners managing director said James Kase said.

"We are excited to have him join the team to help us continue delivering exceptional service to our Australian clients and expand that client base to new investors."

In his new role, Mancini will be based in Hong Kong.

He replaces Simon Lund, who will move to Dublin to focus on HarbourVest's European distribution.

Mancini's roles prior to Challenger include Credit Suisse's director of hedge fund strategic services in Sydney, AMP Capital's head of investment specialists for unlisted assets and associate director at Macquarie Bank.

HarbourVest is headquartered in Boston and in the past, has in the past won a USD $50 million private equity mandate from Telstra Super.
