AMP Advice executive joins AFA

The head of corporate development at AMP Advice has taken on a new role with the Association of Financial Advisers.

Robert Coulter will join the association as general manager, partnerships.

AFA chief executive Philip Kewin said Coulter's extensive experience in financial services at AMP Advice (formerly ipac Securities) will make him an asset to the AFA.

"Rob will be responsible for driving the AFA Partnerships strategy in order to develop strategic relationships that add value to member engagement and maximise the resources and expertise of our partner relationships," Kewin said.

"Rob will be a tremendous addition to the team, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise that will ensure we continue to build our member proposition whilst enhancing our relationship and engagement with key stakeholders."

Coulter has held his current role for over eight years.

Prior to that, he was national sales manager for employer superannuation at ING (now OnePath) for three years.

Earlier in his career, Coulter was a business development manager at BT Financial Group and was a senior consultant and state manager for MLC.
