They have paid their taxes all their life so give them a go, it's their time now. I agree with Garry's comment, cut your own benefits after you finish your term. Or here is another thought, put some limitations on the Newstart benefit, payable for only 6 months, no cash, make it a voucher benefit so vouchers are given for grocery and utility bills. I am a young liberal supporter but if you cut the pension I will have to change my vote.
